Type: LP
Media: CD
Style: Indie • Electronic
Release Year: 2006
Label: Kanine Records
Most of the album reminded me of the 80s, with some jazz/blues feel and synthesizers.

I'm not a big fan of synth music, but if you are, you will enjoy this album. "Black Van" was a complex song, starting like an old record and then adding synthesizer and overlaid lyrics. "Ghost for Life" and "These Mortality Pictures" have a little western feel, and add a bit of harmony. "Turkish Delights" had a sort of outer space, alien dance party feel. Musically a good cd, just not the type of music I like best.

Mixel Pixel have a history rooted in Delaware. If I remember correctly, the lead guy, Rob Corredetti was a DJ on WVUD while attending the University of Delaware. The WVUD station manager Aaron McEvoy put out their debut after they relocated to Brooklyn in the early 2000s. Tric's own Casey Grabowski used to play with these guys back when they were struggling to make a name for themselves in the basement of the Perkins Student Center. Last time they came by, they were filling the TLA with Of Montreal (OF MONTREAL). Music for Plants is getting press all over the danged place.
