As typically happens when the scheduled headliner starts demanding a huge upfront payment and then drops out last minute, this show was hastily put together. I asked Joe to do poetry to the lounge stylings of Naked Brunch and someone from Mojo signed up P.O.R. on Monday.

Joe and the Brunch rocked out a couple groovy jams for 20 minutes before it was Clean Guns turn on the mic. Cleans Guns is a Philly act comprised of Nico the Beast and Zilla Rocca. They got up and spit some of that Philly Confidence while giving updates on the Eagles game in between tracks. Up next was Z-L and D-scribe laying down the law as P.O.R. (Pride Over Riches). After some technical difficulties and "OutKast" karaoke the lyrical lashing was unleashed. Highlights of their performance include references to chuck taylors, a sick mario brothers track and D-scribe coming out on the floor to preach the hip-hop up close and personal.

After a 15 minute setup CoCoSyn (with guest bass player, Sammy B) was ready to show Mojo the fiber of our fabric, unfortunently that wasn't to be the case. Our set was plagued by lack of monitors (apparently the emcees were so aggressive that the monitors just blew up) and a mysterious reverb on the vocals. Danny gave it his best but the sound system wouldn't give up the fight. We played for an hour or so and closed out with s.gray's version of "when doves cry" and a monster jam with Devin Zito on guitar. The recording turned out fabulously and 4 tracks are available on CoCoSyn's MySpace page.
